Join us on this tour from Dublin and explore the most important historic locations of the country. We'll visit the Hill of Uisneach, also called the heart of Ireland because of its central position where five provinces meet. This hill was once the place where Kings would celebrate the "festival of the fires" and it is considered to be one of the most important ancient sites. We will see the place where St Fechin founded a Christian monastery in the 7th century, which was later set on fire 12 times. Now there can be found remains of St Fechin's church from the 1st century AD. The next stop of the tour is Loughcrew, place where you can see tombs from Neolthic era that are 5000 years old. These intact rocks and decorated inside walls will take you back to prehistoric times. After that we will visit the Trim castle, an impressive Anglo-Norman castle from the middle ages. The tour also includes entry to this best preserved example that witnesses historical events from the time.
