On our way to beautiful
Connemara area, we will pass a charming picturesque
village of Oughterard. This small village, though not heavily populated (only about 2,000 residents), has a rich history to tell.
Enjoy an interesting scenic route filled with fascinating places and breathtaking landscape. The beauty of the Connemara national park will definitely charm you; splendid mountains, vast marshlands, and green meadows will meet you eye wherever you look. Depending on the time of the year, the tour itinerary will include an hour and a half boat ride around Killary harbour (April – October) or the visit to the Killary Sheep Farm (November – March) where you can witness an interesting sheepdog and Turf cutting demonstrations.
We will proceed to Kylemore Abbey, a magnificent castle from the 19th century. Gently embraced by the green of the woods, between the lake and a mountain, the castle provides the most calming and idyllic sight.
We continue to Galway afterwards, but we will first make a detour to Inagh Valley to marvel at splendour and richness of the Connemara’s iconic landscape. Once in Galway, you will have the chance to discover this cultural heart of Ireland and learn about its history.
We will return to Dublin during evening hours.
