This private day tour will take you from Dubrovnik to Croatian second biggest city, Split. Upon pick up at your accommodation, we are heading towards Split along coastal Adriatic road. We will have to cross the border and drive for 3 h before we reach town Trogir which will excite you with its Venetian architecture and some of the finest examples of renaissance works of art and architecture in Croatia. Built on an island and connected to the mainland by bridges, Trogir's historic center dates back to the 3rd century B.C. and was originally a Greek city-state.
Half an hour drive south you will arrive to Split. Split is beautiful coastal and second largest city in Croatia where Roman Emperor Diocletian built his magnificent palace at the turn of the 4th century. You will have an hour walking tour with your driver/guide and see all most important sights. Climb the bell tower of St Domnius for a breathtaking view of the port and visit a cathedral that was originally built as Diocletian’s Mausoleum.
During your free time you may want to relax on one of Split's famous sandy beaches (Bačvice) or rent a bicycle in park Marjan. On our way back we will visit one of the most important places in Croatian history, Fortress Klis. Walk through the place of centuries - old struggle we will finish, hopefully, with unforgettable sunset.
