DETAILED DRESS CODE:
• Most catholic churches in Italy require a dress code in order to enter.
• For the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, you are requested to be covered from shoulders to knees (shoulders, chest, stomach and thighs must be all covered by clothing).
• It is permissible to wear shorts, provided that they are long enough to cover your thighs and knees.
• You are also permitted to wear tank tops or spaghetti strap dresses, but you will need to bring with you a garment (shawl, jacket, cardigan) that can cover all the exposed parts between your shoulders and knees when you enter the building.
