Where and how to taste wine in Florence
If you visit Florence you will drink wine, there is no doubt about it, but if you really enjoy wine, it’s great experience to go on a wine tasting tour in the region or choose some wine tours in Florence. It’s a great experience learning about the local producers, the traditional wine production methods and learn what makes those wines stand out from the rest. On those tours you will taste several wines, hear about their production and hear learn some basics about wine tasting in general.
Most of the wine tours also include tastings of some other local products such as olive oil, cheese, panino tartufato (Truffle pâté sandwich) and other local specialties, or even full dinners, so be sure what is in offer to find the best tour for you.
Also, lots of tours offer some kind of wine tasting but here we selected for you only the ones that really give you several wines to try and give some knowledge about the wines and maybe a visit to a wine cellar, not just a complementary glass of wine at some local bar.
We created this list to help you decide:
Wine tasting in the Chianti region
Chianti region is the where most of the Tuscan wine is produced. If you like wine we highly recommend going there and visiting some of the local wine cellars and vineyards. This is where the magic is happening and this should be your choice if you want to drink the wine in the most authentic way possible.

On excursion: Val D'Orcia Tour from Florence
Although the trip was well organized, departure time was more than half an hour late, than scheduled. Also it was a bit complicate to recognize Caf ( who did the tour), as they didnt have noticible signs on the spot.
Apart from that, everithing else was nice, and the guide did a very good job, the tour was interesting, and we came back to Florence as planned, without delay.
