This minivan tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel and continues through Portas do Sol and Nossa Senhora do Monte belvederes, two historic districts of Lisbon. Get lost in the street labyrinth of these ancient neighborhoods before heading to see the oldest church in the city- the Lisbon Cathedral. The church has a beautiful rose window which is actually a reconstruction made of fragments of the original.
Afterward, the tour takes you to explore one of the oldest districts in town, the charming Alfama. Rich with quaint cafés, and intersected with many cobblestone streets, it is a place where one would not get bored for hours.
Next stop is Belém where you will get a history lesson on the “Age of Discoveries" and how it affected the cities development. Here you can see the defensive Belém Tower at the mouth of the River Tagus and admire one of the Portuguese architectural gems, Jerónimos Monastery. Before continuing our journey, we stop to taste traditional custard tart of Belém.
The second part of the day is yet again reserved for the city center. You will follow the 18th-century aqueduct to discover the remaining attractions of Lisbon. First up is the Mãe d'Água Reservoir in the Amoreiras district followed by the Baixa area where you can learn of great Lisbon reconstruction that took place after a devastating earthquake in 1755. It should also be pointed out that this district is considered to be one of the best nightlife spots in town!
