Join us on this half-day tour and discover one of the most visited places in Portugal. Fátima is widely known as one of the world’s most important and most visited pilgrimage sites. Between 1916 and 1917, the Virgin Mary presented herself to three children and communicated a set of revelations. From then, this place has been a place of great symbolism and respect. Firstly, we will visit the Sanctuary grounds where the revelation happened. In the exact places where the figure of Our Lady presented herself to the children a chapel was built: the Chapel of the Apparitions. As you pass through the Sanctuary and the monuments there, you can feel the sacredness and spirituality of the place. Fátima truly wakes special feelings, not only for Christians but for everybody who have a chance to visit it. On this pilgrimage site you can also see two basilicas, one is Our Lady of the Rosary, an impressive neo-baroque basilica made of stone and marble and the recently built modern Holy Trinity Basilica which is one of the biggest Christian churches in the world.
Other places you will get a chance to visit are also the home of the Three Shepherds – Francisco, Jacinta Marto and Lucia which are located in the town of Aljustrel. There you can see reconstructions of old times in the form of old family photos, clothes, furniture, kitchen utensils and others. This is a unique option to go back into time and see one of Portugal’s main attractions as it used to be.
