Bol and the Golden Horn – Day Tours to Brač from Makarska

Bol and the Golden Horn – Day Tours to Brač from Makarska
Presenting Brač through numbers and statistics: it is the largest island in Dalmatia separated from the mainland by the Brač Channel (5-13km wide), it has the tallest peak in all of Adriatic - Vidova gora, raising 780m above the sea level and it has around 14 000 people inhabiting the island, making it the 3rd most populated island in Croatia.

Maybe the most famous and noticeable association with Brač is the outstanding beach of “Zlatni Rat” or Golden cape located in the town of Bol on the southern part of the island. The most interesting fact about the beach consisting mostly of pebbles rock is that it changes its shape under the influence of the tidal movements, so it is practically impossible to see the “same beach” twice. Impressive, right? In historical sense, Bol was first mentioned in the 12th century as a site and then again in the 15th century for the first time as a settlement. During the 17th and 18th century there has been an increase in the population which also influenced the development of architecture, so nowadays we have many interesting examples of houses from the gothic and renaissance period. One of the must see sights is definitely the Dominican monastery as a representative of the mixture of these two periods.

Staying in Makarska and dreaming of casting off into the magical Adriatic sunset? We say: Why not?! Brač is an ideal opportunity not so far away from the mainland. You will not experience just the beauty of sailing, but the charm of the small island town such as Bol as well. While already on the move why not visit some of the islands nearby? There is a great choice between Hvar - the island with the largest number of hours of sunshine per year, Biševo Island and its Blue Cave, the island of Vis or even Paklinski islands in approximate vicinity of Hvar. Dare to embark on the unique journey that will make you fall in love with Dalmatia and the Adriatic Sea.

Booking process very easy. Merting point very accessible and map very accurate. Our guide & the captain were very cool guys (sorry I do not remember the names anymore...) super friendly, great hosts, with lots of information on all the surroundings. We loved having them in charge of the boat and the entire experience. The speedboat was exacly as we expected, very clean, well maintained, comfortable and smooth. The tour included many things, however it never felt too much / too little, too fast / too slow. It was perfectly split to cover as much as possbile, without making it rushed. Pros: lovely places, great guides, excellent landscapes Cons: I see none and I’ve been trying to come up with one for about 3 minutes now :-))) I highly recommend this tour if you wish to see spectacular places, find out interesting info about Croatia and its surrounding islands and swim in the best of waters. Pluuuus, Blue Cave is something out of this world! <3 Thank you guys again for the great time we had with you! Hope to meet again! Alina & Vladimir.
