What shall I see

Join us on this interesting tour of the island of Pag. We will meet at 9am and head for a 3-hour walking tour of the island during which you will get to explore this charming place and learn about its history and traditions. The tour starts with an exhibition of salt production which is an important product of Pag and often referred to as the white gold of the island. After that we will cross the bridge that leads to the center of the town and visit the main square, the location of various important venues on the island. There you can see Mary’s Assumption Congregation Church and The Duke’s Palace where Gallery of Pag Lace is located. In the gallery you can find out about the other important product of Pag, its beautiful lace work. You will also get to visit an exhibition about Bartol Kašić, the father of the Croatian grammar. After the gallery, we will go on to visit The Mary's Assumpton Congregation Church and the exhibition of Seven Centuries of Benedictine Nuns in Pag. The exhibition also includes tasting of a delicious traditional biscuit baškotin, traditionally prepared by nuns who keep the original recipe a secret. Later, we will go on to see the Tower Skrivanat, the only remaining tower of the original nine towers that were built to protect the city from enemies' attacks. We will finish the tour with a pleasant walk towards our meeting point where a vehicle will be waiting to take us to the last stop of the tour - St. Mary's Church and the remains of the Franciscan monastery.
