What is Czech trap?
It is 1970's in Czechoslovakia. The dark time of communism and normalization process. Anybody who is stepping out of the line is suspicious. Anybody who shows an interest in democratic principles gets arrested. Czechoslovakia was under the influence of USSR since the end of the World War II.
In 1968 there was an attempt, called Prague Spring, to restore democratic principles in the country, however this was soon supressed by the invasion of the Soviet Army in August 1968. Many Czech citizens left the country while they could as soon after this invasion the western borders closed and Iron Curtain fall down. Czech people were in a trap. They were trapped in their own country. This process was called normalisation. Situation changed first in 1989 when during the Velvet revolution communism government was defeated, democratic principles restored and connection with the Soviet Union interrupted.
