Relax and enjoy the beauty of the untouched nature of Plitvice Lakes - the first, oldest and largest National park in Croatia. In 1979, the Lakes were included in the UNESCOs World Heritage List as a "natural phenomenon of rare and unique beauty". It consist of 16 lakes that keep changing its colour because of the natural process of travertine barriers deposition. Because of the geological substrate and characteristic hydrogeological conditions, the lake system has been divided into the Upper and Lower lakes. Explore the phenomenon of water and karst by taking the long trails and wooden bridges by foot, boat or electric train.
