This tour is consisted of 2 parts:
First you will travel back in time to Ancient Rome and the Roman Republic and explore the vast Colosseum (Flavian Amphitheatre)- the greatest arena the Romans built. Your guide will tell you stories about the gladiator and wild animal fights that were organized for the delight of the Emperor and Roman citizens. Walk through the Imperial Forum and learn how it was once the center of religious, political and commercial life in Rome and hear about the history of the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina. Discover the story of the Tabularium and go to the Temple of Hadrian where you can see the original Roman street level below ground. End your morning tour at the Pantheon, the majestic temple of all gods, and discover its massive interior and inlaid marble floors.
Following a break for lunch, in the second part of the tour you will go to the Vatican Museums and discover the world’s most precious art collection. Skip the long lines to enter the museums, and tour in a group of no more than 12 people for a more intimate experience. The collection includes works by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini. See Michelangelo’s legendary frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, go to the Octagonal Courtyard to look at the Belvedere Apollo statue. Discover artistic masterpieces in the Pio Clementino Museum and see Flemish tapestries by Raphael’s pupils in the Gallery of Tapestries. Marvel at works of ancient cartographers in the Gallery of Maps and go inside St. Peter's Basilica to see more masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini, including Michelangelo’s "La Pieta".
