This tour starts at 9.00 in the morning from Alexander Nevsky square and the first stop is in the fantastic UNESCO historic place - Boyana church, dating back to the 10th century, which has unique and very well preserved frescoes and pictures from the period of 11 to 14 century. After researching it, you will visit the Rila Monastery- the largest monastery in Bulgaria. It was founded back in the 10th century. The present buildings are from the mid 19th century, with a defensive tower which lived from the 14th century. From the monastery complex you may admire the remarkable architecture and frescoes. During the guided tour from the inner yard and the monastery museum, you'll see the most precious pieces which are kept in the past and all of the stories and facts about the greatest Bulgarian monastery complex. You'll also have the opportunity to find an old and authentic monk room!
