2. Zipline

Ziplining is an extraordinary activity and if you never tried it, you really should. While the most popular Zipline near Split is the one over the Cetina river, 2 other ziplines where built in the region, one over the river Čikola near Šibenik, and the other on the mountain Kozjak, overlooking the city of Split. Being the most popular, the one over Cetina is the most expensive one, but it's up to you to decide which option to take. 3. Sea Kayaking

Kayaking is one of the most relaxing but still considered an adventure tour. Most of the kayaking tours in Split take you around the hill of Marjan so that you are not going on the open sea but staying close to the shore all the time. Kayaking is a bit more physically intensive activity but you can always take short brakes so no worries. It is however recommended that children are accompanied by an adult as it can be a problem when 2 children are in the same kayak. 4. ATV- Quad biking

As the dalmatian hinterland started developing more and more, in the recent years more adventure opportunities have been developed, and the one we are most excited about is the Quad bikes or ATV-s (All terrain vehicles). Riding such powerful machines over the uneven terrain surrounded by the beautiful landscape is something that you will not easily forget. This is best suited for smaller groups. 5. Horse Riding

Another option for exploring the Dalmatian hinterland is by riding a horse. Horse riding has a big tradition in Croatia especially in the city of Sinj, where till this day a knights game is being held every year for over 300 years. There are several stables in the vicinity and some of them organized the possibility to try horse riding and they can tailor the tours depending on your experience level starting from no experience whatsoever. 6. Canyoning

If you want a more extreme version of Rafting - this is it. While still being popularized not many people are aware of this adrenaline sport. You go down the river without a raft, you just wear a life jacket and proceed on foot, swim or just let the river take you downstream. This is definitely not suitable for minors, and you should be completely out of shape. The safety equipment such as helmets is included and mandatory and while you could get a smaller injury, overall you should be fine as you will be escorted by a professional guide. 7. Hiking

Spending a day in nature, walking across beautiful landscapes and enjoying fantastic panoramic views - that's what hiking is all about. Several great hiking locations are available in the vicinity of Split, namely the Marjan hill - a part of Split and the favorite weekend hiking experience for locals, and Mosor, the mountain overlooking the Split area, a bit more challenging but defiantly worth the walk. 8. Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a popular activity for locals in Split. The hill Marjan has a nice climbing location frequently visited by locals and the second one, which is a bit more far but has much more climbing routes, is in the Cetina canyon. 9. Snorkeling

Snorkeling is a nice relaxing experience for those interested in exploring the sea floor but not really wanting to go scuba diving. 10. Diving

The region of Split has several interesting diving locations and local diving centers are organizing tour for both experienced divers and absolute beginners. If you are a beginner you will first have to pass the a short introduction to diving and safety, and then proceed to your dive which will usually be in shallow waters (up to 10m depth).
