This immersive and authentic tour will let you explore the history and gastronomy of Kaštela, a place where nobility build 17 castles and palace, the place of the most popular Croatian tragic love story of Miljenko and Dobrila, visit the spot of the oldest Croatian olive tree called „Mastrinka“ which is over 1500 years old, and of course, learn about the of a very famous Zinfandel vine! The carriage pulled by two purebred horses will take you deep into the vineyards and olive groves. With stops at three local wineries you will have the opportunity to taste the finest wines of the region, one of them being the famous “Kaštelanski Crljenak” which was brought to USA and became one of the most wide spread grape variety which is now called “Zinfandel”. Apart from the vineries we will pass through the olive tree groves and enter the cool cellars where the olives are stored. Here you will also be able to taste the finest olive oil of the region and taste the distinct flavour of the local extra virgin olive oils.
The tour will take you for a 20 km ride along the coast of Kaštela Valley which lasts about 3 hours. Along the ride, your coachman will tell you stories of the region to let you immerse yourself in local tradition at tell you a lot of interesting facts of the local wine and olive oil production.
