Day trips from Vienna to Bratislava

Bratislava is situated right at the border of Slovakia so it's only about 80 km dividing this 2 cities. Being so close means that you will have lots of time to discover the city, either by joining a guide on the historical walking tour in the center or by discovering it on your own. The city is gaining a lot of city brake visitors in the last years and it has developed it into an amazing city, especially for shorter stays. Bratislava has a lot to offer to its visitors, lots of interesting historical sights and facts, interesting sculptures around the city, nice restaurants serving local cuisine and local wines.

You should know that most of the tours visiting Bratislava from Slovakia are using public transport buses, so there will be no guide on the bus. You will just get the tickets for the bus ride there and back and you will meet your guide in Bratislava. As it's not such a long ride and this allows for the tour to have a smaller selling price, most of the tours are organized this way. Some other options do exist so we suggest to read the tour descriptions so there are no surprises on the day of the tour!

If you are thinking of taking a day tour but would very much like to avoid long bus rides, visiting Bratislava is a great option. An opportunity to scratch yet another European capital from your bucket list!

Our tour guide as I call her Mrs. Z has been amazing. The coffee with cake is not as what I expected.... it’s not even a slice of cake it’s just a tiny Square as the size of my thumb, but the coffee is good and the ambiance of the restaurant is charming. Over all I had a great time with Mrs. Z.

Guide and lunch good - bus transfer should improve. Bus transfers FlixBus is used to transfer people to Bratislava and back (so don’t expect a guided bus ride). The tickets with the qr code was not sent to us however when we explained to the driver your name will be on the list on their phone is worked out fine. The busses were scheduled to run at different times than provided on the site, in the morning instead of 9.15 it was 9.30 and in the evening instead of 5.05 it was 5.30 - so don’t freak out if you’re waiting there a while. Waking tour We had a very lovely and insightful guide- she was the highlight of the trip Lunch Lunch was simple but effective -nice restaurant. We had steak and potato and a tomato soup. Bratislava is a lovely city and I would recommend a visit to the castle near by the old town. Was a lovely day!
