Drive through the border between the Dalmatian coast and the hinterland on our way to the ancient Ottoman city of Mostar we will take us to Imotski where you will enjoy famous Blue and Red lakes. After this short stop we will continue to Mostar.
Our local tour guide will introduce us to the great history of the town also known as “the window to the Orient”. The guide will take us to the Old Bazaar, full of picturesque shops and craft workshops, and also to the Cejvan Cehaj Mosque, built in 1552, the oldest mosque in Mostar.
We will walk along the famous Turkish bridge from the 16thC, and leave you some free time for exciting shopping and the opportunity to taste authentic Bosnian specialties like cevapi, pita or burek. Then it's off to experience the wild beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the walled town of Pocitelj, a UNESCO World Heritage site on our way to our final destination, one of the most-visited pilgrimage centers in all of Europe - Medjugorje.
For believers and those who are looking for spiritual renewal, the most compelling site here is the Mount of Appearance where Virgin Mary is reported to have appeared to children in 1981 for the first time.
