Guide to visiting the National Parks from Zadar
Zadar has a great geographical location since it enables a relatively short trips to visit three most popular Croatian national parks. It's actually very hard to make a top 4 list and decide the order since all off them are a marvel of nature, but here it is anyways :)
Regardless, we would still recommend to see all of them if your time in Zadar permits it!
National Park Plitvice Lakes
Plitivice Lakes is one of the most popular National Park in Croatia. It consists of 16 interconnected lakes which are arranged in cascades. It receives more then 1 million visitors each year exploring the park on long wooden pathways and bridges. It takes about 2 hours to reach the lakes by bus and you can even ride the boat across the lakes. Take a look at all the tours in offer to Plitvice Lakes from Zadar
The National Park Kornati consists of 140 islands and it's the densest archipelago in the Mediteranian sea. Apart from the stunning sea coast and panoramic views, visiting Kornati islands lets you learn some of the local traditions and mentality, such as how come that some islands in Kornati have names such as Babina Guzica (Grannies Buttocks) or Kurba Vela (Prominent Prostitute). It's also a nice opportunity to enjoy the see by boat. Take a look at all tours to Kornati islands from Zadar
National Park Krka
The National Park Krka is a river with lots of stunning waterfalls. It's located about 1 hour of driving south of Zadar and walking along the wooden pathways will leave you breathless. It's best visited during spring and summer to enjoy it's full splendor. The major attractions are the Skratinski buk and Roški Slap, both amazing views and photo opportunities for your profile photo. There is also possible to swim in the park unlike the Plitvice Lakes park. View all the tours to Krka National park from Zadar
National Park Paklenica
Located about 1 hour of driving from Zadar, the National Park Paklenica lies on the south end of the mountain Velebit and it attracts lots of people who enjoy hiking. It became a National Park more then 70 years for being the richest and most preserved forest in Dalmatia. View all tours to Paklenica form Zadar.

We had such a great day sailing with Daniel. He met us right on time. he is very knowledgeable about sailing and the areas we visited.
just a little more clarity on where to park would be great for people from out of the country. We were pretty sure we were in an ok spot for the day, but after asking Daniel, we did move our car just in case.

On excursion: Full Day Sailing Tour to Kornati - Telašćica from Zadar
We loved this tour! They bring you to several nice places all along the Kornati islands. We also loved the freshly grilled fish. We thought it's funny that they start the tour with strong schnaps in the morning. The wine was fine. Don't expect a high class wine. Also their fresh coffee on board (costs extra) was pretty good. The team was friendly all the time, everything was well organized. Although they don't talk and explain much about the places, which was fine considering there are more than 100 people on board. On the tour back one of their elders played and sang some Croatian songs on his accordion which was a perfect way to end the tour. I can understand that for some people it could be disappointing to not get a seat on the upper deck, especially the ones that got on board at the second stop. But even on the lower deck you still have some good views. I would still recommend it to everyone for this price.
