Guide to visiting the National Parks from Zadar
Zadar has a great geographical location since it enables a relatively short trips to visit three most popular Croatian national parks. It's actually very hard to make a top 4 list and decide the order since all off them are a marvel of nature, but here it is anyways :)
Regardless, we would still recommend to see all of them if your time in Zadar permits it!
National Park Plitvice Lakes
Plitivice Lakes is one of the most popular National Park in Croatia. It consists of 16 interconnected lakes which are arranged in cascades. It receives more then 1 million visitors each year exploring the park on long wooden pathways and bridges. It takes about 2 hours to reach the lakes by bus and you can even ride the boat across the lakes. Take a look at all the tours in offer to Plitvice Lakes from Zadar
The National Park Kornati consists of 140 islands and it's the densest archipelago in the Mediteranian sea. Apart from the stunning sea coast and panoramic views, visiting Kornati islands lets you learn some of the local traditions and mentality, such as how come that some islands in Kornati have names such as Babina Guzica (Grannies Buttocks) or Kurba Vela (Prominent Prostitute). It's also a nice opportunity to enjoy the see by boat. Take a look at all tours to Kornati islands from Zadar
National Park Krka
The National Park Krka is a river with lots of stunning waterfalls. It's located about 1 hour of driving south of Zadar and walking along the wooden pathways will leave you breathless. It's best visited during spring and summer to enjoy it's full splendor. The major attractions are the Skratinski buk and Roški Slap, both amazing views and photo opportunities for your profile photo. There is also possible to swim in the park unlike the Plitvice Lakes park. View all the tours to Krka National park from Zadar
National Park Paklenica
Located about 1 hour of driving from Zadar, the National Park Paklenica lies on the south end of the mountain Velebit and it attracts lots of people who enjoy hiking. It became a National Park more then 70 years for being the richest and most preserved forest in Dalmatia. View all tours to Paklenica form Zadar.

The booking process was easy. We prefered to pay in the booking office close by the port we took off. The driver picked us up from a hotel in zadar. The skipper was a young guy but very capable what he was doing. Altogether we were 9 people on the ship inkl. skipper. Great bunch of people. Great day.
We would suggest to offer drinks on board and to get some information about sailing skills and the sailing boat.
Altogether we would book the tour again.

The coach arrived exactly on time at our pick up point. There was a mixtue of English,French and German passengers. All languages were provided by the tour guides.Unfortunately there was a road accident near our destination and we were held up for over 1 hour. Our guides was very helpful and informative. We took a leasurely stroll around the lakes. It was peak season and the queue for the boat to get across the largest lower lake was horrendous.Queud for over 1 hour. This did not deter our guide to rush and he made sure we still got to see all of the lakes. They were absolutely beautiful and stunning.I would like to thank the tour guides and coach driver for thier patience and profesionalism for not letting the delays bother them. These problems were out of thier control. We arrived back to Zadar about 3 hours later than scheduled. It was a great day out and very well organised by the staff. If you like natural beauty and landscapes this is a fantastic place to visit.Once again THANKS to the staff on the coach for a brilliant day.Recomended.
