Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is a public square in the City of Westminster built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. Its name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, that took place on 21 October 1805. The Nelson's Column is in the centre of the square. The four bronze reliefs around the basedepict Nelson's most famous battles and the column is guarded by four lion statues which are commonly known as the ‘Landseer Lions.
