The Rila Monastery is one of the most important cultural and architectural monuments of Bulgaria, and is one of the most visited attractions in the region receiving with over a million visitors each year. The full name of the monastery is Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila and it's situated in the Rila Mountains, about 120 kilometers south of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
