Salzburg is the 4th largest city in Austria and it's an interesting tourist destination for several reasons. The city center has one of the best preserved baroque architecture with total of 27 churches, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is also famous for being the birthplace of the famous classical music composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and as the location where the famous classic movie from the year 1965 "The Sound of Music" was filmed. The city has several universities so a lot of students live here.
Among the most famous attractions is the Mirabell Palace and the Mirabell Gardens, the birth house of Mozart, the Salzburg Cathedral, St Peter's Abbey and the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
