Board a newly restored Dubrovnik Cable Car and enjoy a few minutes long cable car ride to the top of the hill Srdj.
The original Dubrovnik Cable Car was built back in 1969 and was always gladly used by the visitors and the locals who wanted to enjoy a beautiful view of Dubrovnik Old City and the surrounding area. After the destruction in the war, it remained broken until recently restored and opened.
After a short orientation tour on top of hill Srđ, we will visit a war museum with original exhibits from the Croatia War of Independence. Afterwards enjoy refreshment enriched by a majestic view and stroll around, before continuing the tour.
A short cable car ride, followed by a ride or short walk will bring us the Ploce Gate, the eastern entrance to the Old City of Dubrovnik, and the walking part of the tour is going to start.
See the Dominican church, the 15th century Rectors Palace that former seat of the Government and the Rector in once independent Republic of Dubrovnik, the 17th century Cathedral.
Also, see the Sponza Palace notable for its columned courtyard with elaborate stone carvings, Church of Saint Blaise, Onofrio`s Fountain, ect.
A perfect ending of this tour will be the visit to 5D museum Visia, where you will learn more of the history of Dubrovnik, and literally travel through time, while watching a multimedia presentation.
Theatrum visitors will travel 1500 years back in time to the period of Epidaurus demolition, the arrival of the Croatian people and the beginnings of Dubrovnik.
After this interesting presentation, enjoy an hour of free time in the Old City.
