What shall I see

As you step through the gates of Dubrovnik’s old city walls, you will be taking a step back in time, losing yourself in the grandeur and beauty of this culturally influential city.

The tour includes a comfortable bus ride to Dubrovnik which will give you the opportunity to see the beautiful coastline of south Croatia and the return to Split, a walking tour with a licensed guide in Dubrovnik and free time to explore the ancient city at your own peace.

You will be astonished by each corner of this legendary city and its unique stories, that our guide will present to you. Old Town Dubrovnik is jewelled with Renaissance churches, fountains, and cobblestone streets. The scenic route along rugged coastline with amazing panoramic views of Dalmatian islands will take us to Dubrovnik, the most visited and most popular tourist destination, a unique Renaissance city on the Mediterranean, with its well preserved walls built between the 13th and 17th century.

This memorable excursion through Croatia's most famous medieval city begins at the monumental western entrance, Pile Gate, located at the top of Stradun. Stradun stretches through the walled town in the east-west direction, connecting the Pile Gate to the Ploče Gate on the eastern end. Both ends are also marked with 15th-century Onofrio's Fountains and bell towers, the Dubrovnik Bell Tower on the east, and the bell tower attached to the Franciscann monastery on the west, one of the most magnificent sites in the city. Within the monastery, operates a pharmacy opened from 1317., the third oldest in Europe.

We will continue to Sponza Palace. The palace courtyard, entirely in arcades, was the vivacious trading centre and meeting place for business people of the Republic Ragusa. Today the Sponza Palace, peaceful and dignified, guards the most precious historical documentation of Dubrovnik. Our tour ends with a visit to the Cathedral which was built on the ruins of a 12th century church, destroyed by the great earthquake of 1667. The interior of the cathedral is magnificent.

Above the main altar is the image of the "Assumption of Mary" from the 16th century, signed by the famous Italian painter Titian. Unique altar of St. John of Nepomuk is made of blue marble.

Having experienced the most important parts of the Old Town, you will have free time to go back and explore its hidden corners by yourself.

Feel free to climb the stairs to the walls that allow you to walk around the Old Town from high up on its ramparts; or take a cable car for a stunning view of the famous red tile roofs and sea.

Plenty of time to see Dubrovnik on your own. We had a great tour guide Martina and driver Marin. :) Well-organised field trip, would recommend!!

Well organised tour to a brilliant destination. First class company ( Grey Line) and the guide was exceptional. Coped with a very difficult situation and an ill passenger admirably. Peter was extremely knowledgable and the information greatly added to the day. He made it very clear he was there to make sure we got the most out of the day. Gave wonderful tips to make sure we maximised the time we had in Dubrovnik. Driver was also really lovely. Greeted every one and helped people on and off the bus as needed. Again nothing was too much trouble. An unforgettable experience.

I recommand this tour if you wan to quickly discover Dubrovnik in one day. Our guide Petar know perfectly the history of the country and told us more than we needed. As it was pick season, Dubrovnik was really over crowded, be aware that you can be disapointed by tourist behaviour. This tour with a small group in a mini bus has a long journey but it’s the best option to visit Dubrovnik frol Split.

A great day from start to finish. Antony picked us up at the hotel near our apartment on time in a very comfortable vehicle. There were 6 of us on the tour and we had plenty of space. The drive is long but we stopped for food/toilet break both going to Dubrovnik and the way back. The walking tour in Dubrovnik is interesting and useful as Diana gave us the details and costs for various tourist trips we might like to do. We arrived in Dubrovnik and had the walking tour from 10.30-11.30 and then had 4.5hours free to discover the town. We managed to go up in the cable car, walk the city walls, have lunch and go to Fort Laurence in that time. That was okay with us but if you wanted to visit any museums then time would be tight.
