Roški slap was named after the Rog (meaning horn) fortress that stood on the right bank of the Krka River. The start of the barrier consists of a series of small cascades (called the Necklace by the locals), following by numerous backwaters and islets. At this section, the canyon spreads out like a funnel and the Krka River falls 15 m into Visovac Lake. A road that has been connecting these banks since Roman times passes over the travertine falls. In the majority of the Roški slap area, nature has remained untouched, making it a real attraction for nature lovers. On the left bank of the waterfall are a series of attractive watermills.
