Why you should go

Book this tour and spend the day discovering historic Irish castles outside of Cork. Visit the Blarney Castle, known for an interesting legend. After that, see the Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle, two impressive structures that tell the story of Ireland's history.

Highlights

  • Enjoy a tour of impressive Irish castles
  • Kiss the Blarney stone and see what it will get you according to the legend
  • See the magnificent Rock of Cashel
  • Visit Cahir Castle, one of the largest and best-preserved castles in the country

What shall I see

We will start the tour with a visit to the 600-year-old Blarney Castle, impressive castle with beautiful towers, battlements and gated entrance. According to the legend, those who kiss the Blarney stone will receive the gift of eloquence - they will get the ability to persuade people, to talk themselves out of trouble and to be very good at flaterry. Discovery Travel Channel even listed kissing Blarney stone among 99 things to do before you die. Another enchanting location here is the Rock Close, a stunning garden with druidic rock formations, waterfalls and exotic plants. Our next stop is the Rock of Cashel, a historic fortress which became the seat of the diocese of Cashel and the place where the historical Synod of Cashel was held. You will get to visit the Great Cathedral, the Hall of Vicars Choral, Cormack's Chapel and the Round Tower. The last stop of the tour is the beautiful Cahir Castle, situated on a rocky island on the River Suir. This castle, granted to the Butler family, is very well-preserved and you can enjoy the sight of its impressive tower, high walls and other defensive structures.
