The tour starts at 8:30am from the
Molly Malone statue in
Suffolk street so make sure to be there in time. We will visit several places in the
County Wicklow starting from
Baltinglass.
Baltinglass is rich in archaeological sites, one of which is unavoidable part of this tour.
Baltinglass Abbey was the richest abbey in Ireland during the medieval times and today its walls stand as a historical reminder of those days. You will have enough time to explore this magnificent building with twelve gothic arches decorating both sides of the nave before we continue our visit to a nearby farm. Let a local farmer show you all the features of a countryside life and afterwards witness a sheepdog demonstration.
Following the Wicklow Way, we are in Laragh in no time. You can get to know the village and enjoy the local cuisine (not included in the price). The best part of the tour is about to come. We will avoid the tourist crowds as we arrive to Glendalough in the afternoon hours. This glacial valley is a famous tourist oasis being a home to an early Christian settlements. You will have hour and a half of discovering its Monastery. Relax and enjoy a splendid view of the surrounding lakes and mountains.
