What shall I see

Plitvice Lakes National Park (Croatian: Nacionalni park Plitvička jezera, colloquial Plitvice, is one of the oldest national parks in Europe, and the largest national park in Coratia. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO and the national park was founded in 1949. The park harbours a grand collection of waterfalls, gallery of lakes, forest and diversity of animal life. The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colors change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.

Situated halfway between Zagreb and Zadar, marked on old maps as the “Devil’s Garden,” the spectacular area consists of 16 interconnected lakes, which gradually blend and descend into one another.

Upon arrival we will start your 4-hour guided tour, visiting Upper Lakes in the south, consisting mainly of dolomite, and Lower lakes in the north, consisting of the limestone rocks. About 8 km of pathways and wooden walking trails around lakes are accessible to visitors.

Trails are descending from an altitude of 636m to 503m above sea level.

Enjoy the unspoiled nature of one of the most beautiful national parks in the world, declared on April 8th 1949.

You will have the chance to see tufa barriers, which occurred over a period of ten thousand years, and are one of the fundamental features of the park.

An unforgettable experience for the whole family.

Plitvice Lakes are beautiful but due to a few problems our tour was slightly rushed. I would recommend Plitvice but the travel is long and I would have preferred more time in the park so that we could truly enjoy ourselves. The meal included on the tour was good.

To start with, the booking process with happy to visit for this tour was extremely easy....they picked us right from the doorstep of our hotel in Pula region. Our guide(whose name I dont remember precisely) was an excellent chap...throughout the bus journey, which was for about four hours, he kept us informed with the history of the entire region, which was informative and entertaining. The journey of 4 hours was quite comfortable as there were apt coffee breaks in between. The Plitvice Lake is surely not to be missed...What a beauty...Absolutely mesmerising...Highly recommended to visit with this group.

We had mixed feelings about the excursion. Booking was very easy but when we tried to contact you to find out where the pick up point would be we were very frustrated. We had expected " Aquatel" but neither us or anyone else knew where that was. We and our air b and b host called probably 8 times before finally getting an answer. In our opinion MUCH time was wasted in rest stops,,snack stops and such. We came 8000+ miles to see the lakes and only got to visit the lower ones without caves, or any side views. YES it was crowded BUT SO much time was wasted. Gulliver was wonderful, knowledgeable, personable and a delight. Best host we ever had on a trip.. The final meal was also wonderful. The bus was first class comfortable. . Honestly we were more impressed with Vintgar Gorge in Slovenia but then we saw SO little of Plitvice. We would not recommend it to someone from Rovinj. Too far away . Too much travel time.

This was such a beautiful place to see. Make sure you bring your walking shoes. It was 15 hour trip for us but it was so worth it. Our tour guide was such help from start to finish there was nothing he didnt explain. We were further out from the pick up points but our guide still got us a lift home and if you are not on the pick up points list all u have to do is ring and they will organize one. There is no extra costs on this trip And lunch included although I have to say the vegetarian option looked nicer. The lakes and waterfalls are exactly what you see in the picture. The waters are So clear so many fish and ducks. Just so amazing and peaceful
