Puerto Iguazu: Iguazu Falls Argentinian Side Full-Day Tour

If you’re visiting the northeast corner of Argentina, a trip to Iguazu Falls is an absolute must. This full-day tour, offered at a very reasonable $18 per person, takes you from your hotel in Puerto Iguazu to explore one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders.

Angela
The falls are the most spectacular I’ve ever seen, and it was wonderful to see the rainforest wildlife. It was awe inspiring day in nature and our guide pointed out many interesting things about the plants and animals around us and was a very gentle and patient guide who looked after us well.

Audrey
Very nice full day tour, with lots of time given to explore the trails.

Sylvie
Our tour guide Marcelo was fantastic. I am a solo traveler and very glad I did this tour. You get your moneys worth easily. Highly recommend!

With a packed itinerary covering the park’s main trails, the iconic Devil’s Throat, and even a jungle walk, it aims to give you a comprehensive experience that’s both educational and awe-inspiring.

We especially appreciate the convenient hotel transfers, which save you from navigating unfamiliar roads early in the morning. The guides, often praised for their warmth and knowledge—like Marcelo and Chelo—help bring the park’s stories and secrets alive. The small group size, capped at around 48, keeps the experience intimate enough to ask questions and get personalized attention.

However, a possible consideration is the park entrance fee, which is not included in the tour price and can be quite a surprise—around $14 for non-Mercosur citizens, but some reviews mention higher charges, close to $40. Also, since this is a shared tour, it might not suit travelers seeking a completely flexible or leisurely pace.

This tour best fits those eager to see Iguazu’s best from a structured, guided approach without the hassle of planning every detail themselves.

MELIHA
Chelo is simply made for this job. He’s warm, kind, considerate and caring and I love the fact he addresses his group as ‘familia’. Hope he gets a pay rise because he deserves it.

Cristina
The best part was our guide, Matìas Martinez was the most professional caring informative human being. He was always there directing our group, keeping us together and explaining. Thank you Matìas!!!

Isabella
Very helpful for transportation to and from the park and getting around the park. Had a lovely guide who also spoke English to me (I was the only one in the group) which I really appreciated!

If you’re after a well-organized day that balances scenery, wildlife, and expert insight, this tour offers excellent value. It’s especially suitable for first-time visitors, solo travelers, or anyone who wants a thorough overview without breaking the bank.

The Experience in Detail

Puerto Iguazu: Iguazu Falls Argentinian Side Full-Day Tour - The Experience in Detail

Starting the Day:

Your adventure begins early, with pickup from your Puerto Iguazu hotel between 6:30 and 7:30 AM. The comfortable bus ride to the park sets a relaxed tone for the day ahead. The guides, in both English and Spanish, quickly share some insights about the park's geography, history, and flora and fauna. We found this helpful because it primes you to notice details that might otherwise go unnoticed during your free exploration.

Ran

HUGO

Iguazu falls is sensational. This tour ensured we saw all the major sections and never felt rushed. Add on the boat 'shower' it-s 100% worth it. Be prepared for a lot of walking and stairs, and take a change and towel, you will get wet.

Exploring the Trails:

Once inside Iguazu National Park, you’re free to explore the three main circuits: the superior, inferior, and the Devil's Throat. We loved the way these trails give different perspectives of the waterfalls. The ecological train makes short stops at key points, including the Devil's Throat, which is the park’s crown jewel—and rightly so. Standing at the edge of this vast chasm, the sheer power of the water plunging down is unforgettable.

One review highlights the disappointment that the Devil’s Throat trail was under construction due to flood damage, but many visitors still find the views from the Brazilian side or the boat tours worthwhile. Even if one trail is temporarily closed, the other circuits still provide plenty of breathtaking vistas.

Wildlife and Jungle Walks:

Harish
it was very well planned and not too tiring but also enjoyable

Kesh
It was very good. I’d recommend it. Chelo, our guide was helpful and organised. The trails were nice but unfortunately Devils throat trail was closed as it is still under construction (damages by the floods last year). But if you are visiting the Brazilian side you visit their devils throat walk...

The day was really well structured. The guide was very friendly.

For those craving a touch of adventure, the Macuco trail is a highlight. It’s a self-guided hike that takes you deep into the jungle, where you might encounter Caí monkeys up close. The trail is a great way to experience the rainforest’s richness, and you’ll likely spot flora and fauna that are often hidden from casual viewers. One reviewer appreciated the opportunity to get close to the forest’s inhabitants, describing the encounter as expressive and curious.

The Power of Devil’s Throat:

The Devil’s Throat is the star attraction, and no visit to Iguazu is complete without witnessing it. Standing at the observation platform, you feel the thunderous roar and see the water’s relentless surge. It's enough to make you feel small in the face of nature’s force. The included train ride makes this easily accessible, but be prepared for crowds during peak times.

Additional Experiences:

Nik
This is a must do experience if you are in the area. The company were good with communication making the experience run smoothly. I highly recommend.

Nicolo
Very good service - no rush and good value for money. Lucho very helpful guide, I would recommend

Carly
Booking the tour is quite useless if you need it in English but they pick you up abs drop you off at your hotel and help organize the jungle boat if you want it and didn’t book it in advance.

Some tours include optional boat rides or other activities; ours offered the chance to see the waterfalls from a different perspective, although some reviews suggest these extras are not included in the price. Remember, food and drinks are not included—so packing snacks or a light lunch is wise, especially since you'll be exploring all day.

The reviews paint a clear picture of what to expect. Many highlight their excellent guides, like Marcelo and Matìas, who are praised for their professionalism, warmth, and depth of knowledge. One reviewer said, “Our guide Marcelo was fantastic,” emphasizing how guides make or break the experience.

Others appreciate the value for money, with many noting that the tour covers all the main attractions efficiently. For example, one wrote, “You get your money’s worth easily,” which is high praise for such an affordable outing.

Some mention unexpected costs—like the park entrance fee being higher than initially stated—so it’s wise to bring extra cash or card. One reviewer pointed out the entrance fee may be around $40 USD rather than the $14 indicated in some info sources, which could be a shock if not prepared.

The walking can be quite extensive, sometimes under the hot sun, so comfortable footwear, sun protection, and insect repellent are must-haves. A few reviews suggested that the pace might be rushed, especially if trails are crowded or if the Devil’s Throat trail is closed. Still, most felt the organized structure of the day kept things moving smoothly.

Transportation, Timing, and Group Size

Puerto Iguazu: Iguazu Falls Argentinian Side Full-Day Tour - Transportation, Timing, and Group Size

The tour provides a shared transportation service that picks up from central locations, which saves you the hassle of navigating public transport. The group size, up to 48 people, balances efficiency with a chance to interact, but it’s not a private guide experience.

Timing is key—early departure allows for cooler temperatures and fewer crowds. The entire day spans approximately 12 hours, giving ample time to explore, take photos, and soak in the scenery. In peak season, expect some waiting at popular spots like the Devil’s Throat, but guides often manage the group efficiently.

Who Would Love This Tour?

It’s perfect for first-timers eager to tick off the main sights and for solo travelers who appreciate knowledgeable guides. If you’re a nature lover, curious about jungle wildlife, or simply want a memorable day witnessing one of the planet’s most impressive waterfalls, this tour is a solid choice. Keep in mind the need for sun protection and insect repellent, and be prepared for a full day on your feet.
